Three Yachting New Zealand Olympic squad members lead their classes going into the final today of the Sail Auckland regatta off Kohimarama.
Andrew Murdoch managed to increase his lead over Luka Radelic in the Laser class yesterday with a win and two fourths. Murdoch now has a three-pointlead over the Croatian.
Jo Aleh keeps the top spot in the women's Laser Radial with a win, a second and a seventh in yesterday's racing.
That gives Radial a four-point lead over Australian Krystal Weir.
Finn sailor Dan Slater is 11 points clear of his closest rival despite being beaten yesterday by fellow Kiwi David Hoogenboom in race nine.
Boardsailor Barbara Kendall - also a member of the Olympic squad with Murdoch, Aleh and Slater - is third, 17 points behind the leader, Alessandra Sensini of Italy. Laura Linares, also of Italy, is second, 11 points behind Sensini and six points ahead of Kendall.
There was no change to the top three in the men's boardsailing yesterday. Maxim Oberemko (Ukraine) made a clean sweep, winning all three races. Julian Bontemps, of France, finished second in all races and New Zealander Jon-Paul Tobin was third in each race.
Geoff Woolley and Mark Overington still have the lead in the men's 470 over Carl Evans and Peter Burling.
The Keen brothers Philip and Stephen, of Christchurch, were the strongest performers, picking up two wins and a third which saw them climb into third. Shelley Hesson and Bianca Barbarich-Bacher, sixth overall in the open fleet, look set to win the women's 470.
Brett Sellers and Nigel Williams are leading the Tornado class, with a five-point margin over Bruce Kendall and Hayden Whitburn.
There will be one further race in each class today to decide the top 10 who will then sail in the double-points medal race.
The forecast is for 10-knot easterlies rising to northeast 15 knots in the afternoon.
