Yachting: Team NZ sailor bows to Holmberg

Team New Zealand helmsman Ben Ainslie finished second to Alinghi's Peter Holmberg in the first regatta of the 2005-06 Swedish Match Tour, the Portugal Cup.

Holmberg beat Ainslie and his Emirates-sponsored NZ crew of Ray Davies, Chris Ward, Stu Bettany and Rob Salthouse 3-1 in the final.

Meanwhile, Team New Zealand skipper Dean Barker guided Lexus to success in the third event in the MedCup in Mallorca. Barker and his crew, consisting mostly of Team New Zealand sailors, picked up a first and a third in the last two races, which was enough to give them the win.
