Yachting: Silver for Murdoch at worlds

Laser yachtsman Andrew Murdoch has won silver at the world sailing championships in Portugal.

Murdoch has finished second in today's final medal race, and has secured a place for New Zealand in the class at the Beijing Olympics next year.

Murdoch says the racing was extremely competitive so he is thrilled with the result. He has also qualified for the Laser Radial and Star Class.

Murdoch says the New Zealanders are performing well and he is expecting more good results. He says compared to the last Olympics, they are on track to secure more spots in Beijing.

The Yngling and board sailing classes are also looking good to qualify.
