Yachting: Shoebridge's team fined for not making call

Kevin Shoebridge's round-the-world Tyco team have been fined $1500 for failing to make a mandatory radio safety call in the Sydney to Hobart event.

The international jury upheld a protest by the News Corp team, who maintained that Tyco should be penalised for an infringement of the Sydney to Hobart sailing instructions.

The jury said Tyco gained no advantage by not making the report within the time limit and therefore a points penalty would be inappropriate.
