Yachting: Regatta may set entries record

Organisers of Monday's Auckland Anniversary Day regatta believe they are on track for a record number of entries, making the event one of the biggest one-day regattas in the world.

The regatta is in its 168th year and is New Zealand's oldest sporting event.

More than 200 entries have already been received for the keelboat and multihull races, while around 30 vessels have been entered in the tugboat races. The regatta will also feature centreboard races for young sailors.
