Four New Zealand Olympic yachting squad sailors are on track to make the top ten in their fleet and sail in Wednesday's double-points medal race in China's Qingdao international regatta.
Jo Aleh continues hold second place in the Laser Radial fleet behind reigning world champ Paige Railey of the USA.
Aleh said she was finding conditions tough.
"The one thing here for me that is so hard is the current -- we have light wind at home, but no current like this.
"It just makes simple things like mark roundings a lot harder, and is something I will really need to work on for the future."
Laser sailor, Andrew Murdoch has assured himself of a spot in the Laser class medal race, qualifying seventh.
On Wednesday, Murdoch will go up against nine others in the medal race.
Board sailor Tom Ashley currently holds a top 10 spot with two more races scheduled before the deciding medal race.
Dan Slater is 10th in the Finn class, suffering after his second false start of the series.
