Sharon Ferris and her crew, Raylor Smeal and Shandy Buckley, made an impressive start in the Yngling to hold third place in the women's keelboat class.
Jo Aleh is now the best-placed of the four New Zealand representatives in the 109-strong Laser Radial fleet.
She finished third and eighth yesterday to leap up the overall standings from 68th to 31st.
In the Finn class, Dan Slater finished 11th and 22nd, suffering a capsize in the latter race after sitting third at one stage.
