Yachting: New Zealand dominates qualifying

New Zealand dominated qualifying at the 420 world championships in Gran Canaria off Spain and now lead in the men's and women's divisions.

National champions Carl Evans and Peter Burling managed four wins from six races to win the qualifying series by two points while Sarah Bilkey and Rosie Sargisson haven't finished outside the top five and lead the women's regatta.

Simon Cooke and Scott Illingworth are in third place in the men's race and Georgina Hill and Michelle Kennedy are fourth in the women's competition.

Jo Aleh, 20, sits in eighth place in the Laser Radial world championships in Los Angeles.
