Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox were back on top of the leaderboard after day four of the 470 world championships in Argentina and Olympic champions Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie continued their climb up the leaderboard.
Snow-Hansen and Willcox, who led after the first two days of the regatta, recordedtwo wins and a third in today's three races and saw them climb from seventh to first, two points clear of Croatian pair Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic. Defending world champions Mathew Belcher and William Ryan of Australia were a further nine points adrift in third.
Aleh and Powrie also notched a win as well as a seventh and 15th to help them into fifth overall in the women's fleet heading into tomorrow's penultimate day of racing. France's Camille Lecointre and Helene Defrance were leading, with China and the US also in the podium positions.
"It was an extremely long day out there today," Powrie said. "Eight hours from leaving the boat park to getting back in.
"We sailed three races consisting of one good one and two average ones. Crazy day with excessive amounts of weed on the course. We had to avoid a few islands in the first race, which kept things rather interesting."
Meanwhile, Natalia Kosinska slipped to 19th overall at the RS:X world championships in Israel, after finishing 22nd, 20th and 30th in her three gold fleet races.
