The waters off Takapuna will be hot tomorrow when the final 14 spots in the New Zealand team for the 420 world championships come up for grabs.
The 420 world championships begin on January 3 off Takapuna, and for many New Zealand entries, tomorrow's pre-worlds regatta is theirlast shot at qualification.
There are seven spots up for grabs in both the open and the women's divisions.
Fourteen slots were booked at the first selection trials in mid-December.
Carl Evans, from Auckland, and Peter Burling, from Tauranga, are the current world 420 champions having won the title just over six months ago in the Canary Islands, Spain.
The pre-world regatta has 62 entries in the open division with 47 international crews, and the women's fleet has 46 entries with 30 international boats.
