Yachting: Dalton sailing on

New Zealand solo yachtsman Graham Dalton has vowed to sail on even though his chances of winning the Velux round-the-world race are officially over.

Dalton arrived in Norfolk, Virginia, on the United States' east coast to complete a dramatic 102-day second leg journey from Perth.

Because of the time taken, the experienced sailor will not be able to complete leg three within race rules and will be classified as "Did not start leg three".

But Dalton was determined to complete a long-held personal goal and finish the global circuit.
