New Zealand skipper Neville Crichton guided Alfa Romeo to victory in the Maxi Yacht World Cup regatta off Sardinia, Italy, yesterday.
Second was Germany's Morning Glory and third place went to Australia's Wild Oats, on countback.
It was sweet revenge for Crichton, who finished second behind Wild Oats, helmed byBob Oatley, in the Sydney to Hobart race in December.
At the end of the week-long matchup between Crichton and Oatley, Alfa Romeo had won four races and finished second twice for six points.
Wild Oats was tied with Morning Glory on 11 points, with the German boat, skippered by Hasso Platner, taking second due to a series of consistent results.
