Oracle's Gavin Brady will face Team New Zealand's Dean Barker in the final of the New Zealand match racing championship on the Waitemata Harbour today.
Brady, who was the top qualifier from the round-robin series, chose to sail the young star of the regatta, Adam Minoprio in thesemifinals.
Brady showed his experience and beat the 21-year-old Minoprio 2-0 to confirm his place in the finals.
In the other semifinal, Chris Dickson, third qualifier from the round-robin, was left to race Barker who won all his races this morning to take the last semifinal spot.
Dickson beat Barker by 14 seconds in race one and Barker won race two by 19 seconds.
In the final sudden death race, Barker beat Dickson by 38 seconds.
The final will be a best-of-five series.
Finalists: Dean Barker (Team New Zealand/Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron) and Gavin Brady (Oracle/Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club).
Minor finalists: Adam Minoprio (Blackmatch/Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Chris Dickson (Oracle/Golden Gate Yacht Club)
