There was more good news for New Zealand at the world yachting championships which ended in Portugal today.
Melinda Henshaw and Olivia Powrie finished 15th in the women's 470 at Cascais to qualify New Zealand for the 2008 Beijing Olympics in that class.
It raised to eight thenumber of classes New Zealand sailors have earned the right to contest in Beijing. They earlier qualified in the Star, Finn, Laser, Laser Radial, women's RS:X, men's RS:X and Yngling.
The championships marked the first major regatta for Henshaw and Powrie as a combination.
Their next key event is the 470 world championship in January in Australia.
