Yachting: Aleh in contention

Auckland yachtie Jo Aleh was strongly placed for a medal going into the final race in the laser radial class at the Qingdao International regatta last night.

Aleh went into the medal race second with a four-point margin over Penny Clark of Great Britain.

USA's Paige Railey already had the gold medal sewn up.

Other New Zealanders through to the finals were Dan Slater (Finn), Andrew Murdoch (Laser) and Tom Ashley (Mens RS:X).

Emirates Team NZ's Ben Ainslie has dominated the Finn class with eight wins and two seconds from 10 races.
