Mitchell McClenaghan appears unlikely to bowl after being felled by a bouncer in New Zealand's batting revival against Pakistan in their opening one-day international at the Basin Reserve.
The hosts finished on 280 for eight after slumping to 99 for six in the 23rd over.
McClenaghan made 31 off 18balls before retiring hurt. He suffered the blow to his left eye from the penultimate ball of the innings from Anwar Ali.
He left the field after the ball lodged between his grill and face.
Anwar slipped over on his previous delivery before sending a short one down. Players rushed to his aid but McClenaghan walked from the field. The bruising was already evident.
Trent Boult edged four from the last ball, leaving Henry 48 not out from 30 balls.
