Players and staff from the Warriors have shared the influence Jonah had on the sporting world at the memorial service at Eden Park.
Star halfback Shaun Johnson says he followed his career when he was a youngster.
"It's a pretty big day remembering somebody who had a pretty big impacton every Kiwis life. We're just paying our respects.
"I think every kid in the nineties [followed Jonah's career], he certainly influenced the way youngsters looked at the game of rugby and we can't thank him enough for that."
Warriors managing director Jim Doyle says: "We've got all the players, all the football staff and admin staff and it's a very sad day when a legend like Jonah passes away so a club like ours needs to pay our respects.
"He had a big impact on a lot of our players over the years when he played.
"He was at the club on a regular basis and have Manu Vatuvei his presentation for his 200th game, so he's got a special place in our heart, Jonah, so it was really important for the club to come out and support him."
