Ronda Rousey wanted to prove that she has recovered from her fight with Holly Holm and there was only one way to do it - by biting an apple.
The 29-year-old uploaded a video to Twitter on Tuesday morning expressing her delight about being able to eat the fruit again.
She said: "Here's my breaking news... are you ready?
"This, just as of last night," Rousey added, before taking a bite out of the apple, "No problem, I'm biting apples again. I'm pretty excited about this."
Shortly after Rousey lost to Holm at UFC 193 in November, she claimed that it could take until April to be able to bite an apple, never mind take any impact to her jaw.
"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," Rousey said in December.
While the former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion felt the need to clarify that Holm had not broken her jaw, as was initially speculated, there was clear damage to her head after Holm's destructive blow.
UFC president Dana White later revealed that Rousey had severely damaged her lip.
