After all the trash talking and pre-fight hype, it was Irishman Conor McGregor who walked away with the lightweight crown after defeating Eddie Alvarez with a knockout in the second round.
Elsewhere on the card Frankie Edgar defeated Jeremy Stephens, and Miesha Tate announced her shock retirement after a loss
to Raquel Pennington. Joanna Jedrzejczyk retained her strawweight title against Karolina Kowalkiewicz (Enjoy blogging those names), and Stephen Thompson couldn't do enough to take Tyron Woodley's title.
