Kuggeleijn was named both bowler of the year and player of the year at the associations annual awards last year after taking 58 wickets across Twenty20, one-day and Plunket Shield.
Kuggeleijn's father, Chris, is a teacher in Hamilton but also a former Northern Districts cricketer.
Northern Districts Cricket chief executive Peter Roach declined to comment about the charges when contacted this afternoon.
When asked whether the charges would affect his selection in the upcoming cricket season, Mr Roach couldn't confirm, but said the domestic teams would be announced in about three weeks time.
"It's a matter that's before the courts and we won't be providing a running commentary," he said.
Kuggeleijn's lawyer Phil Morgan QC did not seek name suppression for his client.
Kuggeleijn declined to comment when approached by the Herald outside court and was seen walking off down the road by himself.
Kuggeleijn has been bailed to his parents' Tamahere house with a condition not to associate with or contact either of the alleged victims.
