Tim Price and Falco placed second at the Badminton Horse Trials today.
It was Falco’s first-ever Badminton, but the horse had previously won Pau five-star and was Price’s horse for the Paris Olympic Games where they were New Zealand’s best with their sixth-place finish.
The world No 2 cameinto this morning’s showjumping in fifth place but a foot-perfect round put all the pressure on those to follow with their 33.9 penalty point effort.
Great Britain’s Ros Canter and Lordships Graffalo created history becoming the first combination to win Badminton three times. Harry Meade onboard Annaghmore Valoner finished third with British riders taking out four of the top five places.
Kiwi Tayla Mason and her homebred, Centennial, was sixth on 38.1 penalty points for their best-ever result at a five-star event, with Jonelle Price and Chilli’s Midnight Star 12th on 45.1 penalty points.
