Batting at first drop for Mpumalanga under-19 women's team, Shania-Lee fell just short of a triple century.
In another strike-farming masterclass, Shania-Lee destroyed the South Western Districts attack, scoring 289 from 182 deliveries. She hit 44 fours and seven sixes in her team's total of 3/352. She shared a mammoth partnership with number four Shivani Nades, who did her best to defer to her awesome teammate and contributed just five runs from 83 balls faced.
Shania-Lee's mother, Mina, told Wisden India her daughter had a simple approach during her incredible performances.
"She respected the good balls and she waited for the bad balls," Mina said. "She knew if she saw out their main bowlers, the part-timers would be bowling soon and she would be able to take advantage then. For the first five balls, she would try to hit boundaries. And in the last ball, she would try to hit a single to get back on strike for the next over."
