What were the Sri Lankans doing with their crazy batting? Is Kane Williamson the second coming of Sachin Tendulkar? And will Sam Cane be captain of the All Blacks?
Tony Veitch and Michael Guerin discuss Kane Williamson's incredible year, Sri Lanka's crazy batting and Same Cane's captaincy credentials.
On Sri Lanka's batting: Veitch: Sri Lanka lost 10/62, that wasn't a game of test cricket, what the heck were they doing? Guerin: It was interesting, that groundsman should do all the testsin New Zealand. Veitch: Hasn't it made test cricket interesting, when you see batsmen having to jump around all the time.
On Kane Williamson: Veitch: The only person in the history of the game who has scored a similar amount of runs with a better average is a bloke called Sachin Tendulkar. Otherwise, Williamson is beating every great in the game.
On Sam Cane: Guerin: Tony believes that Sam Cane is going to captain the All Blacks next year. Where does this come from? Veitch: I have a theory that they're going to look at him as the long-term option for the All Blacks. Guerin: And what, Kieran Read is going to be kidnapped by martians? Veitch: I think there are still concerns about Kieran Read as a player and therefore a captain.
