The story behind Bishop's unforgettable call

As the West Indies produced a stunning comeback victory to win the World T20 final, there was a touching moment playing out in the commentary box at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.

Watch the video (below) of former England player David Lloyd and former West Indies fast-bowler Ian Bishop at the microphone during the final over, as the West Indies needed 19 runs from six balls.

It was Lloyd who took the reins for the first three balls of the over, which were deposited over the boundary rope with ease by Windies allrounder Carlos Brathwaite to sensationally bring the scores level.

The vision from the commentary box shows Lloyd insisting that Bishop take over the lead commentary role for what proved to be the final ball of a truly stunning victory.

And Bishop, who played 43 Tests and 84 one-day internationals during a decorated nine-year international career with the Windies, delivered a call that will long be remembered.

"Carlos Brathwaite! Carlos Brathwaite!!!" Bishop screamed as the allrounder hammered the match-sealing six.

"Remember the name!"

Being at the microphone for the history-making victory was no doubt a special moment for Bishop, who has watched on from the commentary box as the once great cricket power he represented with distinction has struggled for most of the past decade.

And Lloyd's gesture was not lost on the 48-year-old.
