6 - Terror To Love won a second New Zealand Trotting Cup in as many years in Christchurch this week, handing driver Ricky May his sixth victory in the race. May's achievement equalled the record held by Cecil Devine, who trained and drove half a dozen winners between 1951 and 1979.
90.7 - Shane Cameron should have no trouble losing a little more weight to come in under the 90.7kg limit for next week's IBO world cruiserweight title fight against Danny Green. The former heavyweight has already lost 6kg to be about 92kg and been ordered by his nutritionist to eat more or risk entering the ring without enough energy.
9 - With his equalising goal in the All Whites' draw with China on Thursday morning, Chris Wood now jointly holds the New Zealand calendar year goals record. After scoring nine international goals in 2012, Wood drew level with with Jock Newall (1951), Brian & Grant Turner (both 1981) and Vaughan Coveny (2001).
2 - Breakers' point guard Cedric Jackson was rewarded for a spectacular Sunshine Swing by winning his second player of the week award in this season's Australian NBL. Jackson averaged 17 points, 11.5 assists, two steals and 3.5 rebounds as the Breakers swept the pair of road games against Cairns and Townsville.
4 - When the St Louis Rams and the San Francisco 49ers played to a 24-24 tie on Monday, they recorded the first tie in the NFL in four seasons. The league utilises overtime to avoid such results, but the Rams and the 49ers both missed field goals in the final period before time expired.
