There's no doubting Italian women's tennis star Camila Giorgi has talent, she's also an enigma and some would say kind of a sore loser.
And after strong recent form something better than a 6-1 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Greek 30th seed Maria Sakkari was probably expected in herouting at the US Open.
But the world No. 48 fans was volatile, disinterested and quite honestly embarrassing as she was bundled out of the tournament in 57 minutes, hitting just six winners and winning less than a third of the points played in the rout.
Giorgi though didn't disappoint with the handshake as she delivered a brusque quick grab of Sakkari's hand and almost pushed the Greek star out of her way at the same time.
Naturally it sent tennis Twitter into a mini meltdown.
Meanwhile the look on Sakkari, widely considered one of the nicest players on tour said it all after they shook hands.
Sakkari, smile on her face, gestures for Giorgi to go first to the shake. But even if she wanted to go first herself, there was no stopping that freight train. 😅 pic.twitter.com/Y8X8wOjFL6
Say what you will about Aussie bad boy Nick Kyrgios but at least he usually dishes out a decent handshake to his rivals.
As for Sakkari, Giorgi's reaction likely won't bother her as she gets ready to take on China's Shuai Peng before a likely third round showdown with Australia's Ash Barty.
