Tennis: Tough US Open draw for Erakovic

New Zealand teenager Marina Erakovic has a challenging qualifying draw at the US Open tennis championships in New York.

Erakovic, 17, has drawn Estonian Maret Ani in the first round of qualifying tomorrow.

Ani, the 20th seed in qualifying, has a current WTA (Women's Tennis Association) ranking of No 127 but has been as high as No 26 in the world.

Erakovic, 17 is currently ranked at No 235 on the WTA Tour and No 10 in juniors.

The US Open starts on Monday and Erakovic is already guaranteed a place in the main draw for the junior event.
