Maria Sharapova has been named in the Russian squad for the Rio Olympics, despite currently being suspended for returning a positive drug test.
According to the Russian News Agency, the local federation has named Sharapova as one of four players to compete in the women's singles.
Her participation will however
depend on the doping ban being lifted after an ongoing hearing.
A verdict is expected early next month.
The Russian Olympic Federation has claimed any athlete formally banned for a past doping offence will not be picked for Rio 2016, although meldonium cases are now considered exempt.
