Tennis: Semifinalists found at Heineken Open

The semifinalists have been found at the Heineken Tennis Open in Auckland as play resumed today.

Second seed Dominik Hrbaty from Slovakia is through to the semifinals, booking his spot in the final four with a 6-7 6-3 6-2 quarterfinal win over seventh seed Thomas Johansson.

He will meet crowd favourite Juan Balcells in the semifinals, to be played later today on centre court.

The Spaniard breezed past American Glenn Weiner 6-3 6-4.

In this afternoon's quarterfinals, Spain's Francisco Clavet beat third seed Jan Michael Gambrill of the US 6-4 6-4 and the big-serving Brit Greg Rusedski beat Stefan Koubek of Austria 6-2 5-7 7-5.

The semifinals are scheduled for today after virtually all of yesterday's play was lost to rain.
