Tennis: Navratilova loses in mixed doubles at Australia Open

Martina Navratilova has lost at her swansong appearance in the Australian Tennis Open, going down with partner Leander Paes in the mixed doubles final at Melbourne Park.


Serbian Nenad Zimonjic and Russian Elena Bovina have beaten the defending champions 6-1, 7-6.


Navratilova confirmed after the match that Sunday's final would be her last Australian Open.


The Swiss second seed Roger Federer faces big-hitting Russian Marat Safin in the men's final on Sunday, with both players aiming for their second grand slam title.
