Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova continued to delight Auckland crowds at the ASB Bank Classic international women's tennis tournament today when she made short work of the higher WTA ranked American Amy Frazier.
The 20-year-old's second win of the tournament takes her through to the quarterfinals, alongside Luxembourg's Anne Kremerwho also qualified today.
Kournikova beat Frazier in straight sets, 6-4 6-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Frazier's raft of unforced errors was one of the major differences between the two players, with Frazier double faulting almost 10 times.
Kournikova will meet either Emmanuelle Gagliardi, of Switzerland, or American Kristina Brandi in the quarterfinals.
Third seed Anne Kremer qualified for the quarterfinals of tournament with a straight sets second round win over Austrian qualifier Barbara Schwartz 6-2 6-4.
While Schwartz impressed with some fine strokemaking, Kremer stepped up from her opening singles performance on Monday to play strong, consistent tennis.
