Tennis: King-Turner through to semis

New Zealand Davis Cup player Dan King-Turner this morning won his way into semifinals at the US$50,000 Binghampton Challenger in New York.

King-Turner, ranked 564th in the world, is now on a run of nine consecutive singles victories after winning the title at the Saskatoon Futures last week and following up that performance at Binghampton.

In today's quarter-final match he beat the world No 302 American Rhyne Williams 6-4 7-6 in just under two-and-a-half hours, with 12 aces to his credit and two breaks of serve on his opponent.

In the semifinals, King-Turner will now face American Michael Yani, ranked 261st in the world.
