New Zealand tennis player Di Hollands has continued her good form at the US$25,000 ($50,130) Challenger event in Sydney, winning her way as a qualifier into the quarter-finals of the main draw.
Hollands, the New Zealand national champion who has yet to regain a WTA world ranking, beat AustralianSally Peers 6-0, 4-6, 6-3 in the second round.
The win was significant for Hollands as Peers has a ranking of 491 in the world and is the fourth ranked player the New Zealander has dispatched in Sydney.
She now faces China's Yi-Miao Zhou, the seventh seed with a ranking of 301, in the quarters.
Next week Hollands will play in the ASB Pro Circuit at the US$10,000 North Harbour tournament, followed by the US$10,000 Futures in Hamilton and US$10,000 Wellington event.
