Tennis: Hewitt and Clijsters to marry

One of the longest-running love matches in tennis has become official - much to the surprise of bride-to-be Kim Clijsters.

Australian Lleyton Hewitt and his long-time girlfriend are set to marry after he proposed during a cruise on Sydney Harbour.

The upcoming wedding - date unknown - for the pair of former world No 1 players came as no surprise to everyone it seems but Clijsters.

"Lleyton has surprised me," Belgian Clijsters said on her website. "He invited me for dinner on a boat and suddenly unveiled a ring and earrings. I didn't know what hit me, but I'm very happy about it."
