The good run continues for Kiwi doubles player, Marcus Daniell in London.
Daniell and Brazilian partner Marcelo Demoliner won through qualifying at the ATP 500 Queens tournament and took on second seeds and multi Grand Slam winners Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut of France in the first round of the
main draw.
After dropping the first set 4-6 the Kiwi and Brazilian were up 5-3 in the second set when Herbert was force to withdraw citing back pain.
The result will give Daniell good ranking points and confidence leading in to Wimbledon in just over a week. Daniell (27) has a current ATP doubles ranking of 61 in the world.
Fellow Kiwi Michael Venus and American Ryan Harrison play their first round doubles match at the same venue later in the week.
