Tennis: Federer serves it up

Roger Federer was back to his best to reach the last eight at the Sony Ericcson Open with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Jose Acasus yesterday.

The Swiss top seed, who won the title in 2005 and 2006, made it through to his sixth Miami quarter-final on the back of his impressive service game against the Argentine world No 45.

Federer won all but 10 of his service points in 10 games, winning 36 of 39 on first serve and nine of 16 on his second.
