Tennis: Erakovic to face Italian at French Open

New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic will face veteran Italian Tathiana Garbin in the first round of the French Open.

Garbin is currently ranked 56th in the world. Her best result at a Grand Slam came last year when she made the fourth round at Roland Garros.

If Erakovic beats Garbin she is likely to face world number three and 2007 semifinalist Jelena Jankovic.

The schedule of play has not yet been released, but Erakovic will play on either Sunday or Monday night (NZT).
