New Zealand tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic has been eliminated from the Forest Hills Classic in New York after a first round loss.
The 20-year-old, who was seeded second, was beaten 7-6, 7-5 by American Jamea Jackson.
Tournament top seed, France's Paulin Parmetier was also sent packing, after
suffering a 6-3 6-2 loss to China's Peng Shuai.
Erakovic's loss follows a first round elimination at the Olympic Games in Beijing last week.
