Tennis: Erakovic out in first round in Miami

New Zealand number one Marina Erakovic has lost in the opening round of the Sony Tennis Open in Miami.

Erakovic was handed a first round exit for the second straight tournament after falling to Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.

Begu, the world number 53, will face American Varvara Lepchenko in the next round.

Erakovic and Begu will meet again however in the doubles draw with the New Zealander and her British partner Heather Watson set to face Begu and Alicja Rosolska in the first round.
