Tennis: Erakovic eyes doubles quarterfinals

Marina Erakovic is one win away from equalling her career best doubles performance at a grand slam tennis tournament after advancing to the third round at Wimbledon.

Erakovic and doubles partner Tamarine Tanasugarn moved into the third round after beating Polish duo Klaudia Jans and Alicja Rosolska 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Sunday morning.

The duo take on 10th seeded Iveta Benesova and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova of the Czech Republic tonight.

A win will earn Erakovic and Tanasugarn a spot in the quarterfinals, their first as a duo in a grand slam.

The New Zealander last reached the quarterfinals of a grand slam at the US Open in 2008 with Croatian teammate Jelena Kostanic Tosic.
