Tennis: Double delight for Parnell

Easy wins were the order of the day in the second round of the Caro Bowl tennis competition at the weekend.

Both Parnell sides had 6-0 victories over Kohimarama men and Titirangi respectively.

Waiata maintained their steady record with a 4-2 win over West End.

Andrew Cochrane, a former New Zealand 18s champion and once a professionally ranked player, dispatched Jenns Tonn easily in the No 2 singles, and teamed with Alistair Hunt in the doubles to down Antony Old and Lance Pope 6-2, 6-0.

Mission Bay caused a minor upset by beating Belvedere 4-2, with Utu Tuima downing Simon Mooney 6-3, 6-4, and Remuera climbed the table after beating Pakuranga 4-2.

Newcomers Bucklands Beach moved into third place on the women's table after a 4-2 victory over Pompallier.
