Tennis: Cup tie to Kiwis

New Zealand beat Pacific Oceania 5-0 in their Davis Cup tennis Asia-Oceania group-two round-one tie in Dunedin and are set to face the Philippines at Easter. Dan King-Turner and Simon Rea won their singles matches on Friday in straight sets and combined efficiently in the doubles for another straight-set win.

In the "dead" reverse singles, Rubin Statham, 19, held his serve throughout to beat Juan Langton 7-6, 6-1. National champion Adam Thompson beat the experienced Brett Baudinet 6-2, 6-7, 6-1.
