The biggest upset of day three of the Heineken Open caused Nicolas Massu by beating sixth seed and former world No 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain.

The only other seed to lose yesterday was eighth seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, beaten in three sets by Nicolas Almagro of Spain.

New Zealand's sole singles player Daniel King-Turner was knocked out in the first round.
