Mehrtens to partner Seles or Navratilova

All Black Andrew Mehrtens will trade his rugby boots for a tennis racquet for next month's exhibition match with tennis legends Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles.

Canterbury Tennis confirmed today that the first five-eighth will partner one of the international tennis stars in doubles on February 3.

Navratilova and Seles, both former world No 1s, are playing two exhibition singles matches, with the first in Auckland on February 1.

Mehrtens, who was once rated one of New Zealand's leading junior players, has played in previous exhibition matches with John McEnroe and Steffi Graf.
