A dream year has continued for Kiwi doubles specialist Michael Venus at the US Open.
The French Open doubles champion is through to the Mixed Doubles final in New York with Taiwanese partner Hao-Ching Chang.
The third seeds have beaten Australian Anastasia Rodionova and Austrian Oliver Marach 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).
They will meet Swiss legend Martina Hingis and Jamie Murray.
The match tomorrow will be played on the 23,000 capacity centre court at Flushing Meadows, Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Venus and Chang made a brilliant start, clinching the first set 6-1 in just 23 minutes but were taken the distance in the second after going up an early break.
"We definitely played well today, the second set was quite tight but we managed to play well on some big points," Venus told Newstalk ZB.
"It's been a really fun week playing with Chan, I have slowly got to know here a little bit better. The first time we actually met was walking out onto court to play our first match."
Venus explained his partner's coached approached him in Cincinnati three weeks ago and asked if he was interested in playing the Mixed doubles.
The run through to the final has been a huge bonus for Venus who with Ryan Harrison were knocked out in the first round of the men's doubles.
Although there are no ranking points on offer the Mixed Doubles winners will share $150,000 US dollars.
"Obviously would love to have played the doubles final but that wasn't meant to be out her so it's good to get another outlet in the Mixed and play some good tennis," Venus told Newstalk ZB.

Following the Mixed doubles final Venus will turn his attention to trying to qualify for the season ending ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Venus and Harrison are currently 7th in the race with the top eight teams playing the showcase event.
"We would love to be playing at the end of the year but the only way that will happen is if we take care of our matches and have some success later in the season," Venus said.
