The big guns: After barely breaking a sweat in his first round, Rafa Nadal is back against an American qualifier. The Swedish fans will be out in force to support Robin Soderling, while the press room will be emptied as Andy Murray moves on to Margaret Court. Kim Cljisters and Vera Zvonareva head the women's lineup.

Green and gold: Wildcard and world No134 Alicia Molik hopes to repeat her first round heroics while young gun Bernard Tomic has a tough but winnable match against inconsistent Spanish world No34 Feliciano Lopez.

Leave the light on: Juan Martin Del Potro and Marcos Baghdatis is the late match on Rod Laver Arena. Both men are happiest slugging metres behind the baseline and could rally forever.

Outside court option: Kiwi Marina Erakovic (along with Thai veteran Tamarine Tansugarn) is first up on court five, unfortunately drawn against world number two ranked doubles combination of Kveta Peschke and Katerina Srebotnik. World number ten Mikhail Youzhny is again relegated outside the show courts, finding himself on court six.
