John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg were back on the same court yesterday, with McEnroe winning 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the Champions Cup semifinals.
Borg, 53, who won five consecutive Wimbledon championships from 1976-80, was playing competitively in the US for the first time in 10 years.
The old rivals battled for almost two hours before McEnroe closed out the second-set tiebreaker.
McEnroe, 51, was to play Mark Philippoussis, who beat Jim Courier in the other semi, in the final of the over-30 event overnight.
