Table Tennis: Too old for the Games? Never

One reason Canadian table tennis player Huang Wen Guan is so determined to win back his Commonwealth title appears to be because many suspect he is too old at 39.

Quitting China in the 1980s because those in charge of the national squad decided he was not good enough for international competition, he renamed himself Johnny Huang, became Canadian, and went on to reach the world's top 10.

Now he is trying to win back the Commonwealth title he took in 1994.

"At his age, he's left alone to decide his schedule," says Canadian men's team coach Dejan Papic.
