New Zealand's Mary Fisher has bagged her third gold medal at the IPC world swimming championships in Montreal, in the 100m freestyle final.

Fisher, who has a genetic eye condition, has already won titles in 100m backstroke and 50m in the S11 category at the championships and today's victory was achieved in an Oceania record time of 1min 09.61s.

She led at the 50m touch and roared clear as she headed for home.

Fisher has now won four medals at the championships, including a silver in yesterday's 400m freestyle, when she was beaten by Germany's Daniela Schulte, who took silver today in 1:11.81. China's Guizhi Li was third in 1:11.83.
