All you need to know about Super Bowl LIX featuring Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs aiming for the first Super Bowl three-peat as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

The match, which is a repeat of Super Bowl LVII, takes place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Kansas City Chiefs chances to win Super Bowl

The Chiefs head into the Super Bowl with a 15-2 regular season win-loss record. The TAB has Andy Reid’s side as $1.80 favourites to win a third straight title, a run which started with victory over the Eagles at the Super Bowl two years ago.

Reid is looking to win his fourth title as a head coach, he also won one as an assistant at Green Bay in 1997. Before joining the Chiefs, Reid was head coach at the Eagles for 13 seasons including a Super Bowl defeat to the New England Patriots in 2005.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl MVP and has a 3-1 record in the championship game, his only defeat came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.

The Chiefs are appearing in the Super Bowl for the seventh time. They have four previous titles.

Philadelphia Eagles chances to win Super Bowl

The Eagles - who have New Zealand as one of their international home market areas - have the number one defence in the NFL and they say ‘defence wins championships’. The Eagles were the two seed in the NFC and take a 14-3 regular season record into the Super Bowl, with two of their defeats to Falcons and Buccaneers way back in September. Since then they have won 15 of 16 games.

Running back Saquon Barkley signed from divisional rivals the Giants in the off season and led the NFL in rushing yards in the regular season, along with 13 touchdowns.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has had a down year in terms of touchdowns thrown with 18 but in turn has improved his accuracy with fewer interceptions. He’s also run in 14 touchdowns courtesy of the Eagles' almost unstoppable Tush Push move, where Hurts jumps forward from short yardage.

The TAB have the Eagles listed as $2.05 outsiders to win.

The Eagles are appearing in the Super Bowl for the fifth time. They a 1-3 record in the big game.
